Why Your Skincare Routine Might Not Be the Problem

I’m a hormone + MTHFR focused wellness coach helping women support their bodies, lead with integrity, and build something meaningful — without hustle or burnout. I lead the top team in Michigan in my company. I love doing business with women like me, leading their homes in health + wellness and aren’t afraid to put in the work to put money in their families accounts.

Have you ever looked in the mirror and wondered why your skin suddenly looks dull, tired, dry, puffy, or older than it did a few years ago?

You buy the expensive serum.

You try the trendy moisturizer.

You switch cleansers.

And yet nothing seems to create the results you're hoping for.

What if the problem isn't your skincare routine at all?

What if your skin is simply telling you something about what's happening inside your body?

Your Skin Is Often a Reflection of Your Health

One of the things I love most about wellness is that our bodies are constantly communicating with us.

Low energy.

Poor sleep.

Weight loss resistance.

Digestive issues.

Hormone imbalances.

Inflammation.

And yes, even our skin.

While skincare products absolutely matter, they can only do so much if your body is struggling underneath the surface.

That's why I believe healthy skin starts with a whole-body approach.

Five Things That Can Impact Your Skin

1. Chronic Stress

Stress affects nearly every system in the body.

When stress levels stay elevated for long periods of time, it can contribute to dryness, dullness, breakouts, increased sensitivity, and accelerated aging.

As a busy mom, I understand how easy it is to put ourselves last.

But your skin often reminds you when you've been running on empty.

2. Poor Sleep

There is a reason they call it beauty sleep.

Sleep is when much of your body's repair and recovery happens.

Consistently poor sleep can contribute to puffiness, dark circles, uneven skin tone, and a tired appearance.

3. Inflammation

Inflammation doesn't always show up as pain.

Sometimes it shows up as skin that simply doesn't look or feel its best.

When I began paying closer attention to inflammation markers, blood sugar balance, nutrient status, and recovery, I noticed improvements that extended far beyond how I felt.

My skin benefited too.

4. Nutrition

Your skin is constantly rebuilding itself.

That process requires nutrients.

Protein, healthy fats, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and proper hydration all play an important role in supporting healthy skin.

This is one of the reasons I prioritize protein every single day.

5. Hormonal Changes

As women move through their thirties and forties, changing hormone levels can impact hydration, elasticity, collagen production, and skin texture.

It's completely normal.

But it's also why many women find that the skincare routine they used at 25 no longer works at 35 or 45.

My Approach to Healthy Aging

At 37, I'm not interested in chasing perfection.

I'm interested in supporting my body well.

I focus on eating nutrient-dense foods, prioritizing protein, managing stress, supporting recovery, paying attention to my blood work, and choosing products that align with my health-conscious lifestyle.

That's why I love combining wellness with skincare.

I want products that support healthy aging while also fitting my desire to make more intentional choices for myself and my family.

The YOUTH skincare line checks those boxes for me.

It combines clinically researched ingredients with a science backed approach to supporting hydration, elasticity, radiance, and overall skin health.

And when paired with Life+ Liquid Collagen, it creates an inside-out approach that makes so much sense for women who care about wellness.

Not Every Woman Needs the Same Skincare Routine

This is where so many women get stuck.

They assume they need the same products as everyone else.

The truth is that your skin is unique.

Your goals are unique.

Your concerns are unique.

Which means your skincare routine should be too.

That's exactly why I created my FREE Skincare Quiz.

In just a few minutes, you'll receive personalized recommendations based on your skin type and biggest concerns.
