Is Direct Sales the Right Next Step for Me?

I’m a hormone + MTHFR focused wellness coach helping women support their bodies, lead with integrity, and build something meaningful — without hustle or burnout. I lead the top team in Michigan in my company. I love doing business with women like me, leading their homes in health + wellness and aren’t afraid to put in the work to put money in their families accounts.

There comes a point where you start to feel it.

Not loudly. Not all at once.
But consistently.

A quiet pull that says… there’s more for me than this.

More flexibility.
More impact.
More income.
More alignment with the life you actually want to build.

And yet, when the idea of direct sales or network marketing comes up, it’s often met with hesitation.

You’ve likely thought:

  • I don’t want to be salesy

  • I’ve seen people do this poorly

  • I don’t have time for something else

  • I don’t want to annoy people

These are valid concerns. But they’re also based on an outdated model.

Because what most people don’t realize is this:

Direct sales has evolved.

What Direct Sales Actually Looks Like Today

At its core, modern direct sales is not about convincing people to buy something they don’t need.

It’s about:

  • Sharing products you genuinely use and believe in

  • Educating people so they can make informed decisions

  • Building relationships and community

  • Leveraging your personal brand and influence

The old way relied on pressure and scripts.
The new way is built on alignment, trust, and leadership.

Is This the Right Fit for You?

Rather than asking if direct sales “works,” a better question is:

Is this the right vehicle for you?

Here’s how I would evaluate it.

This may be a strong next step if:

  • You already value health, wellness, or personal growth

  • You naturally share what you love with others

  • You desire flexibility but still want meaningful income

  • You’re open to learning and being coached

  • You want to be part of something bigger than yourself

It may not be the right fit if:

  • You’re looking for quick results without effort

  • You’re unwilling to grow personally

  • You prefer to stay behind the scenes

  • You’re not open to feedback or mentorship

There is no right or wrong answer here. Only alignment.

My Perspective After 14 Years in This Space

I’ve been in the wellness and coaching space for over a decade.

And if I’m honest, I didn’t need another opportunity.

What I needed was:

  • A higher standard of products

  • A more aligned company

  • A leadership environment that prioritized growth without burnout

When I found that, everything changed.

Not because I suddenly worked more…
But because I was finally building in an environment that supported the kind of results I had been looking for all along.

This is where most people get it wrong.

They don’t fail because direct sales doesn’t work.
They struggle because they choose the wrong vehicle, the wrong mentorship, or the wrong approach.

What Actually Matters When Making This Decision

If you’re considering this path, focus on these five things:

1. Product Integrity

Do the products deliver real, measurable results?

2. Company Foundation

Is the company stable, ethical, and growing?

3. Compensation Structure

Is there real earning potential, or is it capped?

4. Leadership & Mentorship

Are you being guided by someone who is actively building and leading?

5. Systems & Simplicity

Is there a clear path to follow, or are you left figuring it out on your own?

When these are in place, direct sales becomes far less about “selling”…
and far more about leading, serving, and scaling.

A Final Thought

If you’ve been feeling that pull —
that sense that you’re meant for more —
it’s worth exploring.

Not impulsively.
But intentionally.

You don’t need to have it all figured out.
You just need clarity on whether this path aligns with where you’re being called to go next.

If that’s something you’ve been thinking about, I’m always open to having that conversation with you.
