The Systems That Helped Me Grow My Business While Working Less on My Phone
I’m a hormone + MTHFR focused wellness coach helping women support their bodies, lead with integrity, and build something meaningful — without hustle or burnout. I lead the top team in Michigan in my company. I love doing business with women like me, leading their homes in health + wellness and aren’t afraid to put in the work to put money in their families accounts.
There was a time in my business where I truly felt like I had no system.
I was posting on the fly.
Answering messages on the fly.
Creating content on the fly.
Making decisions on the fly.
And if I’m honest… it was serving no one.
It felt busy, but it wasn’t strategic. It felt productive in the moment, but it wasn’t building anything sustainable. I was constantly reacting instead of leading, and that kind of energy eventually catches up with you, especially when you are also a wife, a mom, and a woman trying to honor her faith and steward her time well.
When I made the decision to partner with a new company and build a new team from the ground up, I knew something very clearly: this time, I needed to build smarter.
I am older now. More wise. And I am someone who can get a lot done in a small, focused period of time when I have a clear plan. I didn’t want to repeat the chaos of doing everything on the fly. I wanted a business model and daily rhythm that could actually grow with me in each season of life.
What changed everything for me was implementing real systems and sticking to them, even when they felt simple.
First, we built a clear team structure. Instead of everyone doing their own thing at their own pace, we began operating with shared focus and aligned direction. That alone created so much more momentum than when we were all scattered and guessing what to do next.
Second, I started giving weekly, intentional attention to my clients. Not random check-ins when I happened to think of it, but consistent touchpoints that strengthened relationships and naturally supported repeat orders and long-term growth. Residual income is not accidental. It is built through steady care and follow through.
Third, we leaned into a marketing calendar and actually followed it. That meant my team and I were all talking about the same focus each month instead of jumping from idea to idea or chasing whatever felt urgent that day. This removed so much overthinking and created a rhythm that made our work feel calmer, clearer, and far more effective.
Ironically, these systems did not make me work more. They allowed me to work less on my phone while growing more in impact and income.
In this season, I truly feel like God has been asking me to slow down and really enjoy what He has already blessed me with. Building my business with structure has helped me refine not just my leadership, but my motherhood too. I am more present. My nervous system feels more regulated. And I am modeling the same balanced approach that I teach my clients when it comes to their health and hormones.
One of the biggest fears I see in ambitious women, especially nurses, trainers, and health coaches, is the fear that building online means being glued to your phone 24 hours a day. They overthink every post, overanalyze every message, and end up feeling frozen because they don’t know exactly what they should be doing.
I understand that feeling deeply, because I am not naturally the most organized person either. That is exactly why I’ve become so committed to creating and following systems. They take the guesswork out of everything. They give clarity to the woman who is willing to work hard but doesn’t want to constantly wonder if she’s doing the right things.
My team is actually more type A than I am in many ways, and they’ve come to really appreciate the rhythms we’ve set for each month and each season of life we’re in. Structure has not limited our creativity. It has supported our consistency and protected our peace.
To the woman who believes she has to be “on” 24/7 to grow a successful online business, I would gently say that that old ideology is washed away. It is not realistic, and it is not the kind of business I personally want to build or lead.
You can still earn meaningful income. You can still grow your impact. You can still help a lot of people. But you can do it through focused work, clear systems, and intentional leadership instead of constant, reactive hustle.
For me, success in this season looks like building something strong and sustainable while keeping my faith and my family as the main thing. It looks like doing the right work in focused windows of time, then closing my phone and being fully present where God has called me most first.
The systems didn’t just grow my business. They refined me as a leader and as a mother. And that, more than anything, is the kind of growth I truly desired.
If you’re a hardworking woman already leading somewhere in your life or career and you feel the quiet pull to build something more structured, more sustainable, and more aligned with your faith and family, I want you to know you don’t have to figure it all out alone. The right systems, mentorship, and business vehicle can change everything — not by adding more chaos, but by giving clarity and confidence to the work you’re already called to do. If this stirred something in you, I would truly value a genuine conversation about what you’re building now and where you feel God may be leading you next.
